Keith Grimwood

Professor of Infectious Diseases, Griffith University & Gold Coast Health, QLD

Professor Keith Grimwood is a paediatric infectious diseases physician who graduated from Otago University in New Zealand and undertook paediatric training in New Zealand and the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne before undertaking a post-doctoral fellowship in infectious diseases at the University of Calgary. He has held academic positions as Senior Lecturer in Paediatrics at the University of Melbourne, Professor of Paediatrics at the University of Otago-Wellington, Conjoint Professor of Paediatrics at the University of Queensland and was the Inaugural Director of the Queensland Children’s Medical Research Institute. He is presently the Professor of Infectious Diseases at Griffith University and Gold Coast Health. As a clinical researcher he has published more than 280 papers, book chapters and reports on topics that include respiratory viral and gastrointestinal infections, pneumonia, cystic fibrosis lung disease, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, bronchiectasis, meningitis, urinary tract infections and vaccine-preventable diseases.
